NCDOT 2012 Spring Litter Sweep
Adopt-A-Highway Litter Removal Service of America, Inc. is partnering with the North Carolina Department of Transportation and Adopt-A-Highway volunteers for their bi-annual Spring Litter Sweep! Litter Sweep is scheduled for April 14 to 28 and encourages the cleanup of North Carolina roadsides. During the 2011 fall Litter Sweep more than 1.7 million pounds of roadside litter was removed.
This is a great opportunity for all North Carolina residents to do their part and contribute to a clean environment. Businesses can contribute through NCDOT’s Sponsor-A-Highway program and receive a highway sign displaying their business name and logo. Your sign is seen by millions of motorists, day and night, all year long. For more information on the program, contact Paige Woods at 1-800-792-4452 or email paige@adoptahighway.net.
The bi-annual Litter Sweeps are administered by the NCDOT Office of Beautification. For more information, visit the Office of Beautification website and click on “Litter Sweep.” Volunteers can also receive information and updates by following NCDOT on Twitter, visiting the department’s Facebook page.
The NCDOT spring Litter Sweep is a great time for North Carolinians to get involved in community beautification,” said Transportation Secretary Gene Conti. “It’s an event that allows us all to work together, taking pride in the beauty of our state’s roadsides.
