He has special interest in advanced arthroscopic techniques, the treatment of arthritis and alternatives to joint replacement surgery.
Motion Orthopaedics is centrally located near all of the major highways in the St. Louis area, offering our patients easy access to our services, which include the Emerson Road Imaging Center and Emerson Road Surgery Center. All of your orthopedic needs are under one roof just off I-270 & Olive Boulevard.
Motion Orthopaedics’ close access to I-270 is what motivated us to adopt a section of highway. It is a great way to show our support of our community. Our patients rely on the roads that MoDOT maintain to get to our office for all their orthopedic needs. It was important to us to be a part of the effort to keep the roads clean. We are thankful to Adopt-A-Highway Litter Removal Service of America for including us in their program. ”

Why We Do What We Do
According to Keep America Beautiful, over 51 billion pieces of litter are on U.S. roadways annually. The majority of this litter is smaller than four inches, equaling about 6,729 items per mile of roadway. That is a lot of trash!
Tobacco accounts for the largest percentage of trash on U.S. roadways. Other items frequently found on highways include packaging such as fast-food cartons, Styrofoam cups, napkins, plastic utensils, snack-food wrappers, matches, bottles and cans, paper bags, tissues, plastic sheets, film, boxes, clothes, newspapers, magazines, metal foil, anti-freeze and motor oil containers, grease, paint thinner, tires and much more.
Litter is not only ugly, it can cause serious environmental and health problems. For example, cigarette butts contain toxic chemicals that can end up in storm drains and contaminate our precious water systems. Trash and items falling from loose loads can cause accidents and some serious traffic delays.
At Adopt A Highway Litter Removal Service, Inc. our professional crews are safety trained to clean up and recycle all types of litter found on the roadways. From small items to large debris, we take care of it all in a safe and professional manner.
Today, April 22nd, is Earth Day 2014 and more than one billion people worldwide will take some action to protect this planet and the environment. The act can be as simple as planting a single tree or picking up one piece of litter. Each act and each person, young or old, can make a difference. That is what this grassroots environmental movement is all about. Earth Day was created by Gaylord Nelson, a Senator from Wisconsin, in 1970, to increase awareness of environmental problems. From its humble beginnings and simple concept, Earth Day is credited with the creation of the EPA and The Clean Air and Endangered Species Acts. Over the past 44 years, Earth Day has grown to the largest annual environmental event worldwide. Here are some simple ways to celebrate Earth Day:
- Walk or bike the kids to or home from school
- Plant something, preferable something edible
- Begin a recycling at home or at work
- Turn off the lights
- Donate, reuse, up-cycle items that you are not using
- Feed the birds
- Visit Earth Day Network for more ideas www.earthday.org
Or better yet, CALL or email Adopt-A-Highway Litter Removal Service of America, Inc. for a special Earth Day discount today!
The need for a clean environment continues and we hope you will be a part of it, we certainly will continue to clean the highways and recycle wherever we can!
Adopt A Highway Litter Removal Service of America, Inc. is all about keeping roads clean and safe. But, that is not our only goal. We hope to educate and inspire others to think about the impact of trash on our environment. An average American generates 3.5 pounds of trash each day. This graphic illustrates how long it really takes for common trash items to decompose.
Help reduce your trash output by:
- Using paper and natural products whenever possible, as they decompose at much faster rate than man-made products
- Using an aluminum water bottle rather than plastic
- Recycling and reusing old items
It takes the effort of all to keep our environment healthy!
At AAHLRSA, we are trying to do our part by using decomposable bags in all our markets and recycling items removed from the roadways.
We appreciate all our Adopt-A-Highway sponsors and others that share our vision of a clean and green America!
