May is National Bike Month

Did you know that May is National Bike Month? Since 1956, May has been recognized as National Bike Month. The THIRD week in May is specifically “BIKE TO WORK WEEK” and the 3rd Friday (May 15th) is “BIKE TO WORK DAY.”

National Bike to Work Week 2015 will be held on May 11-15.

More than half of the U.S. population lives within 5 miles of their workplace, making biking to work a feasible commuting option. Studies show that once somebody participates in a BIKE TO WORK event, they are more likely to become a regular bike commuter. Since 2000, bike commuting has grown by 62%.
